The advertisement may show a pencil writing on a block of paper full of numbers, and if so, this is the game of which we write and dream.

The game itself is a bit new, at least in terms of popularity, and definitely worth the couple of minutes that it takes to learn. The Sudoku game is a game of logic and patience. Not unlike the "magic squares" of elementary school math class, there is a grid which needs to be filled with numbers. Yet, Sudoku has a bit more going for it. It is a game of logic and addition, of observance, and of patience.

The level of logic that is required will almost magically bubble up to the surface of a player's mind, resulting in rather surprising discoveries within the game, and within the player him/herself. In time this game may find disciples who years before would have found themselves avidly watching a chess game, now taking up pencil and paper to solve the latest puzzle.
